Healthy Food

I would consider Wheat Thins healthy food because it is in the whole grain category. Food being in the whole grain category makes it healthy because it is a part of the food pyramid. You also get 2% calcium and 4% iron. There isn’t a lot of sugar, no high fructose corn syrup. Wheat Thins are within the 2,000 calorie diet that’s on every box of food we get. I would get someone to prove that wheat and whole grain products are important for your health. It is in the food pyramid so we know we need it. I would also have something on how carbohydrates come from whole grain and athletes need carbs for energy. This is also good for parents who need to give their children healthy food that will supply them with proper energy to be burned off during their daily activities.

Opinion on Why do Academics Continue to Insist on Proper English

Based off the articles most of the professors disagree with different parts of Dennis Baron article. People should still learn the difference between “good” and “bad” English. Command mistakes like knowing the tense of the paper or the difference between “it” and “it’s” are small issues that shouldn’t happen as much. Though people phrase things differently doesn’t mean that it is technically wrong because it still gets the point across. Knowing the difference between proper English and slang in some way affects a person getting a job. Talking slag all the time compared to proper English can be the reason why a person gets a job or not. Once they get the job speaking will not do anything to their paycheck.

My Opinion After Reading

Change will never end. Immigrants coming to America share their culture with us as we share with them. Change may not be wanted but happens any way. After reading I feel America is still stuck on race and ethnicity. Programs like Affirmative Action should but shouldn’t exist. We are all people and the only difference people seem to notice is the color of our skin. Though the program does extra work to help minorities it still shouldn’t be that important. Businesses hold off a number of slots to hire minorities to help the diversity of the company when really the position should be available for the person qualified to take it. There are situations where kids in the city of Chicago for example don’t have the same education available to them compared to kids in the suburbs. Though the educational system has a lot to do with the kid the environment they grow up in also shapes them. If they want more they need to find a way to get it. Even though the school program might not be great they need to graduate. Get a job to get by if needed, go to community if they can’t afford to go straight into a university and move on from there. Not all people have the same opportunities but some people can work their way out a situation. Some help might be needed but people shouldn’t rely on it to get them somewhere.

Peer Review

The peer review was rather helpful this time. Usually we get a paper and just have to write comments on it or correct grammar. Correcting Grammar is not my thing, I can’t even fix it I my own papers. I would just do the usually your paper is great and I love it when really I didn’t know what to do. Reading our own papers out loud with another person helped me realize where I messed up and she was able to give helpful suggestions when I asked. Rather than me looking a bunch of red marks and fixing the easy problems.

Why My Mother Can't Speak English-Writting Assignment

The one skill I think I have an inability is learning how to play guitar. To start I cannot read music anymore and have forgotten everything. There have been several times where I have tried to pick up a guitar on my own and watch videos on how to play but it never worked. Other times friends have tried to teach me. I still end up with the same results as before and that’s me not learning anything. The guitar is already weird to hold let alone use. Unless I become fully motivated and take a class that involves practice day after day I’ll never learn how to use a guitar.  Even if I take a class at some point I’ll probably want to quit. To make life easy I should just learn how to play piano. I still can’t read music but I have been able to teach myself to play songs on a piano.
